Happy Holidays!

December has been a busy month for Isaac! He celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas with lots of family! This week Isaac took his first road trip up north to his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin's house in Pennsylvania. He did a great job on the long drive and he is really enjoying seeing his first snow and getting lots of love from his family. We will post more pictures next week, but first we wanted to wish everyone Happy, Happy Holidays! Thank you so much for all your love :)

A Baby's Best Friend

Last week Isaac turned 2 months old! And what a busy month he has had....At over 10 1/2 pounds, he has celebrated his first Thanksgiving and first Hanukkah, and met lots more friends and family. He also went on his first road trip across state lines so we could give our love and support to our very dear friends who we continue to pray for each and every day.

Isaac has given us tons of smiles and he has been talking up a storm with ooo's, ahhh's, and gurgles. He loves to talk to his little animals. We think his love for animals grew even more after he met Lenox on his trip to Atlanta. Lenox is a beautiful golden retriever who graciously shared her home (and parents) with us for 5 days. She protected and watched after Isaac, licked his head and hands, and even shared his favorite activity mat with him! I can now say a dog is not only a man's best friend, but also a baby's!

Laughter

After we knew we were having a boy, we found the name Isaac. Not only do we love the name, but we love what what it stands for. The name Isaac means Laughter. Even before he was born, Isaac brought so much happiness to our lives so the name seemed perfect! Over the past 7 weeks, we have been overwhelmed with so much love for our little guy.

He makes us smile and laugh every day.....and now for the first time he is smiling back at us!!

Our little pumpkin

We had so much this Halloween with Isaac! Although he slept through most of it, he enjoyed pumpkin carving with his cousins and being with them when they got ready. He also met lots of neighbors, and is excited for the day he can trick-or-treat also. It was almost 80 degrees here this Halloween and a perfect day to celebrate our first holiday together. Isaac is a true October baby!

Like Father Like Son

We have been having so much fun over the past few weeks getting to know Isaac and watching him grow and develop a little personality! It is so amazing and pleasantly overwhelming how much love we can have for one little guy and how much joy he brings us. Justin and I could never have prepared for how incredible this new journey has been!

One of my favorite things to see has been the special bond that Isaac shares with his Daddy. Justin and I did not know how we would do as parents, and we still have a lot to learn! One thing I do know now is that he is already like his Daddy, and it is so beautiful to see. It's not only the way his ears stick out just a little or the strong kicking skills he's already developed. It's not the way that he will stop crying suddenly to watch football on TV (I am already outnumbered in this house!). and it's beyond the soothing comfort he feels when he hears the song "Take me out to the ball game". The special bond I love the most is in the way they look at each other and the quiet understanding they share. And knowing this is just the beginning......

First Bath

Earlier this week, Isaac took his first bath. Wow, what an experience! We are so lucky we had Nana here to help us. Here is a pic of Isaac chillin' in his new bath robe after his first wash. So fresh and so clean clean!

He must have gotten his chicken legs from his mommy ;)

Isaac Stone, the 12th Man?

As most of you know, Micheal Turner, the running back for the Atlanta Falcons was supposed to have a monster year. He was projected as the #2 overall pick in fantasy football and most analysts were predicting huge numbers. Four weeks into the season his production was far below expectation. During the Carolina game in week 2 he was even taken out and replaced by our 3rd string RB Jason Snelling. With 3 games under his belt, Turner had 2 games with 60 yards or less. Not only was his total yards down, he only had 2 TDs. This is not what we wanted from him at this point

Then.......Isaac was born! Week 5, the Falcons traveled west to the bay area to take on the 49ers. Falcons are a 3.5 point underdog and facing one of the best defenses in the NFL. During week 4, the 49ers held the St. Louis Rams to 0 points and they even scored 3 TDs. Michael Singletary had his team prepared for battle.

I were wondering when Turner was going to have his break out game. Was it going to be week 5 in San Fran? To be honest, I did not think so as the 49ers had a stout defense led my Patrick Willis.

There he was. Isaac was sitting on the couch with his #33 jersey on rooting on Michale Turner and the Falcons as they crushed the 49ers (sorry Anuj). Was Isaac the inspiration that Turner the Burner needed? Could he hear Isaac's screams after each of his 3 TDs? Or could he see his fist pumped as he rumbled down the field for 100 yards? I am not sure. Was this a coincidence that Turner has his break out game on Isaac's first of many football Sundays? I will let you make the call. Dont forget Isaac was born on the bye week...

So all you Bears fans out there, be afraid , be very afraid! Isaac will be wearing his jersey this Sunday and every Sunday from here on out.

Go Falcons!

Welcome Isaac Stone Koehler

We are so excited to introduce you to Isaac Stone! Isaac was born at UNC Hospital on Thursday,October 8th, 2009 at 7:38pm. He was anxiously welcomed into to this world with lots of love by his very proud parents, grandparents, great grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

We would like to start off by thanking everyone for all their support, advice, and good wishes throughout our journey. From the time we knew Isaac was coming all the way through his arrival, we've been so overwhelmed by all the love we've received and we are very thankful. Since things have been very busy around here, as you can imagine, we wanted to start a blog so we can keep all our friends and family from around the world updated on Isaac's journey through his first year and our journey as a new family of 3.

Please check back often as we will be updating this blog regularly and please feel free to comment. We love you all and thanks again for your support. We got to run, Isaac is crying and we have no idea if he is hungry, sleepy, dirty....
